This is about as central as it is possible to get. Princes Street, The main shopping street in Edinburgh is a few yards away, and George Street which has all the best bars and restaurants is under 100 yards the other way. If you are arriving by train, the station is 5 minutes walk; if by air, the airport bus stops 50 yards from the front door. As the junction between Princes Street and Frederick Street has recently been closed to traffic, the flat is surprisingly quiet - except of course when the Edinburgh Festival and New Year fireworks are on, which you can enjoy from the window. There is occasionally a Continental food market right outside the door- ideal for breakfast- and a supermarket within a couple of blocks.
