About the location.
Wellington Street is in the heart of Edinburgh, with excellent bus services to all areas just 2 minutes walk away, and Princes Street and Royal Mile within easy walking distance. But the street itself is a quiet, leafy one, separated from the main thoroughfare by a strip of parkland with mature trees and therefore screened from intrusive traffic noise. The corner-block location ensures a light, sunny aspect to front and rear. The airport express bus terminates at Waverley railway station, just a 5 minute taxi-ride away. Free on-street parking with is usually available immediately in front of the flat : please request information at time of initial enquiry.
The area is characterised by its attractive mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture. Bus services are among the best in the city, and with Princes Street , Calton Hill, Holyrood Palace, the Scottish Parliament and Arthur's Seat all within easy walking distance, visitors will find the apartment exceptionally convenient. The immediate vicinity boasts a wide selection of bars, cafes and restaurants ,as well as the Playhouse Theatre and Omni cinema complex ,while the newly revamped Leith Shore area with excellent waterfront pubs and eating places is less than a 10 minute bus-ride away.
Festival visitors might find it useful to know that buses run to all central Edinburgh venues : 10 minutes or less to The Assembly Rooms, Pleasance, Festival Theatre and Queen's Hall and 15 minutes or less to Usher Hall, Lyceum, Traverse and Film House. After late shows, it is perfectly possible to walk home from any of these venues in under 30 minutes .
