About this accommodation.
Self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people in Edinburgh city centre.
Furnished to a high standard the apartment sits by the banks of the Leith in a former mill in the historic and picturesque Dean Village yet is only a 5 minute walk to the city centre. It provides an excellent base for either holiday or business breaks.
The Accommodation comprises:
There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a double with a king size brass bedstead and bedroom 2 a twin room with two single bedstreads. All bedding is hypoallergenic with sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers in Egyptian cotton.
A sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate a futher two visitors.
A cot is available upon request and can be fitted easily into the double bedroom.
Bath and hand towels are provided.
The living room has a dining area which seats 6. There is a TV with freeview and a DVD player. The apartment has a selection of books, DVDs and games for all ages provided for use during your stay.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, halogen hob, double oven, microwave, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
An iron, ironing board and clothes airer are also provided in the utility cupboard.
The bathroom has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.
All basic items are included for for your first week with complementary beveridges and organic biscuits. If you will be clebrating a special ocassion whilst you are staying we can assist co-ordinating flowers balloons etc for you.
There is solid oak flooring throughout, thermostatically controlled heating and a plentiful supply of hot water.
The apartment is on the second floor and is accessible by either the lift or stairs. There are no steps to the building. The road which leads you out of the village into town is steep in parts which may prove difficult for those less mobile.
There is free Wi-Fi.
There is a garden to the rear of the mill which leads down to the riverside which catches the sun the morning and lunchtime. There is a picnic area and the apartment has a picnic set for your use.
There is on street parking available (metred 8 a.m to 6.30 p.m, free at the weekends). There is free on street parking 10 minutes away adjacent to the owners home.
About the location.
Waverley and Haymarket Stations are within easy reach and the Airport Express link bus stop is a 5 minute walk away.
Built in 1805, the mill remains the last remaining mill building in the village. The wheatsheaf roundel on the front of the building testifies to its origins as a flour mill. A millers peel (a wooden paddle used by bakers) can also be seen on the side of the building. After years of disuse the mill was converted into housing in the 1970's.
In addition to the large range of visitor attraction Edinburgh boasts a short walk upstream by the river will take you to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The Gallery is housed in two buildings and is set in extensive grounds with sculptures and landforms.
A short walk downstream will take you to the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh which boasts a variety of deli's, cafe's and shops.

We regret that we cannot accept pets and the apartment is strictly no smoking.
The balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival date. For bookings made less than 6 weeks before the arrival date we require full payment at the time of booking.
There is also £100 housekeeping/ damages deposit which is refundable on departure.
