Ideal location for a stay in edinburgh

I stayed with Phil and Karen while on a 12-week university placement in Edinburgh. The location was ideal and only a short bus or 45 minute walk into town. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby aswell as a gym which was important for me.

The room was a good size and had more than enough storage, and the bathroom was great too. I was able to cook and do washing when I wanted, Phil and Karen were very accommodating.

I really enjoyed speaking to Phil and Karen and they were very interested in getting to know me too. They gave me my own space which was needed after countless long days but always asked how I was or if there was anything they could do to make my stay more enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed with Phil and Karen from September 2019 until March 2020 as I had transferred to Edinburgh for work. From the outset Phil and Karen were incredibly welcoming, kind, and generous and I would now consider them very good friends.

The room itself was very comfortable and having my own bathroom was a big plus for me. The house was always clean and tidy, and Karen even ensured I could use the washing machine and gave me fresh towels when I needed them.

LNot once did Phil or Karen make me feel uncomfortable as it can be difficult moving away from home and family; it became my home away from home and I genuinely looked forward to seeing them and catching up over a nice meal and a bottle (or 2) of wine.

It was clear from the outset that I was very welcome and they followed my lead with how much time we would spend together. Some days I was tired or stressed from work and they both would give me the space I needed or keep me company.

If it wasn’t for being transferred to work from home I would have happily continued staying at this property - it was quiet, not once was I disturbed by cars or people in the streets. It was safe to park my car in the bays outside the property and it was easy to get to public transport into the centre of Edinburgh. The local Morrison’s was under 10 minute walk away which was handy for my food supplies, and Phil and Karen were always happy for me to use the kitchen and store food whenever I needed to.

Overall I can’t recommend this let enough - great location, great property, and best of all it comes with hosts which made my stay enjoyable, homely, and a genuine pleasure.

I had a great stay with Phil and Karen, who are very friendly hosts. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and luxurious. It is a very quiet location and you will sleep well here!

I had a really wonderful month here and would absolutely recommend the room to anyone looking for a home base for their time in Edinburgh! Phil and Karen were great hosts - it was so lovely to be able to spend time and chat with them, and they were great about checking in to see that I had everything I needed.

Everything was clean and working; the room and bathroom were both wonderful. They have a washer and dryer onsite, and the communal spaces including the kitchen were lovely and genuinely communal.

There were plenty of buses near by and easy access to a supermarket and a very useful cycle/walking path.

Highly recommended, especially if you're staying for a while.

We really enjoyed staying with Phil and Karen.
The couple were very accommodating and we felt safe and welcome in their home.
The bus was just a short walk away and it was a very nice area to be staying.
We would highly recommend this accommodation.
