    Festival stay 3 nights

Reviewed on Mon, 19 Aug 2019 by Maria Tattersall , United Kingdom (Stayed here in August, 2019)

As with all other accommodations in Edinburgh during the Festival prices are extremely high. Sylvie was very attentive to all communications and thoughtful extras were left. The apartment suited our purposes for 3 nights but we were concerned about a lack of smoke/fire alarms or carbon monoxide detector for the very old gas fire.

Comfortable, well equipped flat with easy access to fringe venues

Reviewed on Sun, 18 Aug 2019 by Berni Hart , United Kingdom (Stayed here in August, 2019)

We stayed here for 6 nights to visit the Fringe festival, and found it ideal for that, very comfortable and well equipped with good quality bedding. It's about 15 mins uphill walk to one of the main Fringe venues on George Street.

This is obviously a home rather than a rental property, and although we didn't want to cook very much, the fact that the kitchen cupboards are left stocked with all the basic cooking ingredients and that there was washing up liquid, tea towels etc is a great help. The small living area has the kitchen at one end and a comfortable sofa and coffee table at the other end looking out onto the garden. The weather was too wet to sit outside but even so it is a bonus to have this nice green outlook.

Communication with Sophie was excellent from pre-booking enquiries through to check out. It's always a nice touch when the host leaves a 'welcome pack' for you to make sure you have something for breakfast, but Sophie's offerings were unusually generous and very much appreciated. This is a thoughtful host who goes out of her way to make the stay enjoyable - thoroughly recommended.

    Faultless

Reviewed on Mon, 09 Apr 2018 by Lynne And Peter , United Kingdom (Stayed here in April, 2018)

This is a beautiful clean comfortable real life “house and garden” stay. Silvie welcomed us with lovely artisan bread and milk - just great after the trip. The garden and artworks are beautiful. We found the location very convenient to walk to all the sites we wanted to seeand a great place to relax in the evening. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone on business (great WiFi after England) or on holiday.

    Cumberland st

Reviewed on Sun, 20 Aug 2017 by Shiona , United Kingdom (Stayed here in August, 2017)

Booked this for a week at The Festival. Excellent location and really quiet. Was a bit disappointed as it said we would have access to Queen St Gardens but the owner hadn`t had keys for 2 years and just hadn`t been updated. She was very apologetic and bought us lovely chocolates. The sofa bed was not the comfiest but adequate. Apartment very cosy being a basement flat. Sylvia was very welcoming and bought us some lovely bread and milk etc. Would recommend this as a place to stay in the Festival.
