About the location (Crail, Crail)

Part of a large house which sits on the commanding site of a twelfth century Royal Castle, of which only a small part remains. The house is still referred to locally as "the castle" and the nearby street names reflect its history.

The house today was built in 1871 by Frederick Thomas Pilkington (1832 -1898) the renowned architect. A two-storey wing was added in 1937. The house was acquired in 1971 and converted into self-contained apartments. There are three apartments available as holiday letting apartments and can be booked individually or together.

Situated in impressive grounds extending to more than an acre in an elevated position overlooking the sea, the May Island, and the picturesque harbour of Crail. The views are exceptional.
