The apartment is elegantly furnished and will provide a stylish and very comfortable base for your stay. The main bedroom has a large double bed with en suite bath room. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and there is separate family bathroom. There is a further full length single cabin style bed in the study. Cumberland Street has very little passing evening traffic allowing a good night's sleep. The high ceilings and elegant colour scheme in the sitting room provide a great place to unwind after a hard day of sight seeing, shopping, or festivaling. The dining kitchen is a large and sunny room and can sit 6 people comfortably. It has all the modern appliances you would expect, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge and freezer, and is very well equipped if you wish to cook at home any evening.
Hair dryers, iron and board, towels, linen, and Wifi are in the apartment and are included in the rental. On street car parking is free from Friday evening to Monday morning however a car isn't essential to stay here as most places are within easy walking distance.
About the location (New Town, Edinburgh)
This New Town apartment is well situated for visiting all the main attractions in Edinburgh's World Heritage sites of the Old and New Town and lies only few minutes walk from Scotland Street as described in the well known Alexander McCall Smith novels. As well as the many historic connections in this area there are a large number of local shops and boutiques on nearby Dundas Street and Broughton Street, where the locals go and tourists tend to miss. The area has great restaurants and cafes.
Most places are within easy walking distance and the local bus service is a 2 minute walk from the apartment, connecting you with Princess Street in the very centre of the city in a couple of minutes. Edinburgh's International Airport is a 20 minute taxi ride away.
Check in/out Check-in is between 4p.m. and 10p.m. on the day of arrival. Check-out time is before 10.30 a.m. on the day of departure. Please contact us as soon as your travel arrangements are confirmed (and at least three days prior to your arrival) to confirm the expected time of arrival with us. Arrivals at antisocial times (from 10 p.m. onward) and late departures to 12:00 p.m. may incur a modest fee of £25. We offer both face-to-face and contactless check-in options.
Payment of balance If the booking is placed more than 250 days prior to arrival, the guest will initially be charged 10% of the total rental fee. Once the booking is within 250 days, the guests will be charged 50 % of the remaining balance which will be required to be paid at latest 120 days prior to arrival. The remainder of the balance will be charged 56 days prior to arrival. If the booking is placed within 56 days of the arrival date the full balance will be required to be paid.
Security deposit A refundable security deposit of £250 will be required for your booking to ensure that no damage is done to the property or its contents.
Coronavirus cancellation policy (for arrivals before 30th September 2021) Due to the Corona virus pandemic we have offered a more relaxed cancellation policy for bookings up until 30th September 2021. Under this policy guests will be entitled to a full refund if they are forced to cancel their trip due to government coronavirus restrictions. If the guests should cancel for any other reasons prior to 30th September 2021 the following conditions apply:
Cancellation over 15 days prior to arrival - Guests will receive a full refund minus a £30 admin fee. Cancellation within 15 days of arrival - Guests will be charged in full.
Standard cancellation policy (for arrivals after 1st October 2021) The initial instalment of 10% is non-refundable. Over 6 months prior to arrival - Guests will receive a full refund of the remaining balance minus a £50 admin fee. Up to 56 days prior to arrival - Guests will be charged 25% of the rental fee. 55 -30 days prior to arrival - Guests will be charged 50% of the rental fee. 29 days or less - Full rental fee will be charged
