St Mary's Cathedral is located in the West End of Edinburgh's city centre.
Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary the Virgin was built in the late 19th century.
St Mary's Cathedral holds two firsts in that it was the first cathedral in Britian to employ girls in their choir initially in the treble line in 1978 and the secondly in the alto in 2005.
